Everything is going green! Eco-friendly movements are popping up everywhere. The fashion industry contributes to the green movement by developing sustainable fashion, recycling materials, and the like. Furthermore, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) just established a “sustainability committee” to manage the culture of waste of the fashion industry. This OOTD is my ode to the green movement.
No, it’s not just because I’m wearing green. Majority of the pieces in this outfit are actually vintage. Wearing vintage clothing is an interesting way to look great, help the environment, and save money. Take my outfit for example. The top and blazer were purchased at an ukay-ukay store (thrift shop) for just 25 Php and 50 Php, respectively. A lot of people are skeptical about buying secondhand clothing but there’s really nothing to it. All you have to do is clean it properly and voila! – it’s safe to wear.
Mixing vintage pieces with modern pieces makes for a very interesting outfit.
I got these lovely sunnies at a steal – for just $10 – at Amazon.
I love how this top has a little surprise on the back. The sheerness and the bird print are a nice touch to a simple tee.
The floral print and buttons on the blazer compliment the bird print top so well. I’m like a walking garden. LOL! This truly is an eco-friendly outfit.
The chunkiness of these wedges balances out the softness of my eco-friendly pieces. That’s all for now. I hope everyone’s having a great week, so far.
