Every time I explore a new place, I always find myself wanting to take in as much as I can in the least amount of time. If it’s humanly possible to go from Luzon to Visayas to Mindanao in one day, I would actually do it. On my last trip to New York, I tried to squeeze in as much as I can in the few days that I was there. I went from Times Square to Brooklyn in one day. I know it doesn’t seem like a marathon but I basically went from one island to another. There are so many awesome things to see but oh so little time.
The Mandatory tourist shot in the middle of Times Square. It’s even more amazing than it looks. I felt so small surrounded by all the skyscrapers. Personally, I love how all the colors come together.
Crossed the Brooklyn Bridge to explore the other side of New York. I ended up in a forgotten street and discovered pretty awesome graffiti.
Stopped by Juliana’s Pizza for lunch. Yes, this whole Margherita Pizza was all mine. It was an explosion of cheesy goodness baked in a brick oven—so delicious!
When I toured the area, I found quirky little fixtures all around this traditional town. It was refreshing to see pops of colors and shapes in the most random places. I even found myself admiring the Brooklyn Bridge. I know it’s just a bridge but I think it’s so beautiful.
When in New York, do as the New Yorkers do. Grab a snack at the corner food stand—specifically a hotdog on a bun and a soft pretzel. Then go to the corner bakery for dessert. Just look at all these pastries—so yummy!
I love the abstract art on this random street wall.
On my way to the Rockefeller Center, I found the Nintendo World flagship store. I had no idea this even existed. It is the ultimate place for Nintendo fanatics! This two-storey Nintendo heaven is filled with exclusive memorabilia, various products, and gaming areas.
It was the holidays so the entire Rockefeller Center was decked out in stunning Holiday decorations. Even Saks Fifth Avenue joined in on the Holiday spirit.
Ended this lovely day with Godiva’s chocolate covered strawberries in one hand and shopping bags in the other. I even stocked up on Uniqlo’s Heattech products—the perfect inner wear for cold weather.
The next time you travel to the U.S. or if you already live there, spend a few days in New York. It’s the perfect place to leisurely stroll around in and, in the process, discover great places to shop and eat. New York is one of the places I will always go back to. Can’t get enough of New York?
