The one thing in the fashion world that I truly go crazy for are shoes, shoes, and even more shoes! Last I checked, I have over a hundred pairs of heels–that’s right, I didn’t even count how many pairs of flats and sneakers I own. Some have never even been used and are still in their original packaging–they’re just too pretty to be worn out. There is nothing in this world that I wouldn’t do to find the perfect pair of shoes. I know times are hard and money doesn’t grow on trees so how could I possibly afford such a love for shoes? It’s simple really, every single pair of shoes that I own were either gifted to me or bought at a discounted price. Whenever I travel, one of my absolutely favorite places to shop for designer shoes is the Designer Shoe Warehouse.
DSW is every fashionistas happy place. It is a treasure trove of shelves overflowing with designer shoes, bags, and accessories–that’s not even the best part. Every single item is sold at reasonable discounted prices! That’s right, this is where my shoe obsession is at its peak and where my savings come to die.
The funny thing about me shopping for shoes at DSW is that I don’t just stop at the shoes. One glance at the accessories section and I’m just lost. I end up leaving the store with a bunch of shoes, bags, accessories, and no regrets. I walk away even happier than I already was because I got my hands on the beast deals on high quality pieces.
I want everyone to be able to experience this type of happiness so here’s the low-down on shopping at DSW. Each item has a colored price tag that specifies an additional discount on top of the already discounted price on the tag. That’s right, DSW puts discounts on already discounted items. The bigger the discount, the longer it’s been on the shelves. There are signages all over the store that specifies the corresponding discount to the color of the price tag. Remember that all of the items are from previous seasons so don’t expect the latest collections of the designers to be in stock. Personally, I don’t follow trends so it doesn’t matter to me if I buy last season’s products–all that matters is that I like it. On my last visit to DSW, I found a few gems at lovely prices.

If you want to get the best deals possible, just follow my shopping strategy. The first thing I do is to go to the clearance section (it’s usually at the back part of the store) then work my way to the front of the store. This way, I’ll be able to get first dibs on the cheaper items before getting to the higher priced ones. When you see something you like, get it (in your size) and never let go. You can filter through all the items in your cart when you’re done browsing. Trust me on this, stores like these have limited stock and sizes (especially for the best selling items) so don’t talk yourself into going back for certain items–it might not be there anymore. Lastly, avoid buyers remorse by spending some time checking on the fit and quality of every single item you intend on purchasing. If it’s not up to your standards, don’t get it.
DSW also carries an assortment of designer bags and jewellery at affordable prices.
