Look fashionable on the beach without bare-ing it all. Here are my tips and tricks to easy beach outfits with a more covered up look. It’s time to explore the more conservative side of beachwear.
The best thing about growing up in a tropical country is that there is a beach on every corner. You can literally go to a different beach every single day. This is great when looking for awesome vacation spots but it becomes harder and harder to come up with new beach outfit ideas. The typical beach outfit–swimwear topped with a cover-up–is just too played out. Coming up with fashionable outfits with more coverage is a more innovative way of dressing up for the beach.
TIPS & TRICKS TO CREATING EASY BEACH OUTFITS
1. Know Your Look
Before coming up with any outfit, figuring out the type of look you want is essential. There are so many types of looks to choose from. You can go for a free spirited look, bohemian look, and so much more. Take your pick from the many outfit options available out there. You can even come up with your very own type of look. Don’t forget that the most important thing is for you to be comfortable with whatever you decide on.
2. Invest in Everyday Pieces
If you’re looking to change up your beachwear ensembles, look no further than your very own closet. Your closet is a treasure trove of clothing pieces that already express your sense of style. It’s just a matter of mixing and matching your favorite beachwear pieces with everyday clothing. Take any bikini top, for example, it can be worn with a pair of wide pants, harem pants, or even culottes. All clothing pieces made out of jersey, spandex, or other stretchable fabrics can be easily paired with beachwear pieces.
Wearing everyday pieces to the beach not only saves you time and money but it also allows you to get more mileage on the clothing pieces you already own.
3. Balance
Every single time you put an outfit together, always remember to balance everything out. Combine classic pieces with trendy pieces and basic pieces with stand-out pieces to come up with put together ensembles. It is also important to balance out the various outfit elements like shape, color, and the like.

4. Search For Inspiration
With every new venture, it is very important to get inspired. There are various avenues to acquire inspiration. You can look to the streets, your peers, and, of course, online. My go-to platform to find inspiration is the web. It is the most convenient platform that houses infinite images and articles on every topic you can think of. To kickstart your search for new beachwear outfits, I recommend these articles from You Queen and College Fashion.
Remember that the importance of this step is not to imitate but to derive your own ideas from the inspiring materials gathered and to stay true to your sense of style.
5. Experiment
Fashion is fun so don’t be afraid to play around with different fashion pieces and various outfit combinations. There is no limit to the fashionable outfits you can create.
Besides experimenting with different outfit combinations, you can also create truly unique pieces by experimenting with Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects. Check out Jessica Probus’ article for easy beach cover up DIY projects.
