The Crescent Moon Cafe is an artisan haven that features native food and intricate hand-made pottery. The compound is decorated with vibrant locally made pieces that go harmoniously with nature. This space sparks feelings of upbeat serenity.
The cafe is located at the heart of the compound. The wide windows enable natural light to flood the room. This is the perfect setting for an afternoon date with that special someone.
The table is set with Crescent Moon’s custom made ceramic wares.
The hearty meal begins with a do-it-yourself leaf wrap. Various ingredients–like shrimp, onions, mango, coconut, etc.–bring about a melting pot of flavors. The best part is experimenting with different combinations to come up with unique flavors.
The squash & coconut soup is so lovely–I couldn’t get enough of it. I lost count of how many bowls I finished off. This is one dish that, definitely, should not be missed.
Now unto the main course. A variety of viands were presented. Sweet and sour fall off the bone pork, poached salmon with creamy buttery sauce, and seared vegetables with sesame dressing. It tastes way better than it sounds, trust me.
Did I mention that the customers have no control whatsoever on what they eat in this cafe? The menu changes daily depending on the fresh ingredients found in the local market.
The only constant dish served daily is the suman and mango dessert. It’s a simple Filipino dessert packed with flavor. The cafe makes the suman themselves which contributes to the unique taste of the dish. They also make black rice suman which I prefer because it’s healthier.
The dining area is filled with the various pottery products Crescent Moon produces and they can all be purchased on the spot.
This plate is one of my favorite pieces. Pretty simple, I know, but I love the minimalist feel of it.
